Update

March 16, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

On March 15th, 2020 the government announced that all classes are cancelled immediately and indefinitely due to COVID-19

This letter includes important information regarding how to pick up personal items from school. To ensure we abide by Alberta Health guidelines regarding social distancing, we have created a schedule to control how many people are in the building at once. Please do not come if you or your child is feeling ill. The list is organized by homeroom. Please note, if you have more than 1 child at Bob Edwards, you may come with both children during one of the scheduled times of your children.

When you come to pick up your personal items, please bring the following items to school:

  • Athletics jerseys
  • Library books
  • Students may return their musical instruments

When you come to school on your scheduled day and time, you will be greeted in the front foyer by staff members who will have a list of outstanding items you must bring to school (as per list above). You will be asked to give these items to the staff and we will document that you have returned these items. This way, if you have returned all items, you will not receive an invoice.

Schedule for return of school property items and pick up of personal items:
  • Tuesday March 17th, 2020 9:00am – 12:00pm: Homerooms: 61 (Mr. Morgan) & 62 (Ms. Ford)
  • Tuesday March 17th, 2020 1:00pm – 3:25pm: Homerooms: 64 (Mme Stunell) ,65 (Mme Amyotte) & 66 (Mme Murphy)

Humanities 7-5:

  • Our daily warm-up is now 10 minutes of reading in French, followed by 5 minutes of writing in French, using sentence starters. Also, our strategy with sentence writing is to use the vocabulary from the text that we read in our writing.
  • Homework: write 2 sentences using "La phrase négative"
  • In Social Studies, we are currently studying Jacques Cartier and his 3 voyages.
  • Students, please re-read your notes from chapter 1, especially the information comparing and contrasting the Haudenausonee, Anishnabe, and Mi'kmaq.
  • Homework: if you have not handed in your "Journal d'un explorateur" yet... it is VERY late. (was due November 18). This is your evaluation for chapter 1 and takes the place of a chapter 1 test, and as such, must be completed as part of your term mark.
Merci!

75 - le lundi / Monday

Bonjour! Hello!

For 75 only:

Today we worked on "la phrase négative" in our daily warm-up. We have been working on this concept (ne...pas) for the past several weeks. Extra practice on this concept can be found here: https://www.clicmaclasse.fr/activites/etude-langue/phrase-negative/phrase-negative.pdf

We also started a research project on a topic that has to do with the fall season. Students are working in pairs and are working towards preparing an oral presentation en français that they will record. Students will then respond to their classmates recorded presentations en français also in video format. The project outline can be found here: Recherche - l'automne The timeline for this project is approximately 1.5 weeks.

Student Learning Updates will be sent home today.

Merci!

Mme Pohajdak et Mme Haggar
